**A WAY OUT- a little long but a MUST READ!!***: My hubby and I went to AutoList of Canada in Winnipeg on Regent Avenue March 2011. We were in desperate need for a car. After looking online we saw an SUV that we were interrested in at AutoList. The bonus was that we could walk in that day, 'buy' (or so we thought we were doing) our SUV and leave the same day with the vehicle. My car at that time had 'bit the biscuit' and I NEEDED a vehicle I could manage to drive,as hubby's truck was to big for me to park. My son was born 3 months premature and at this point he had already spent 3 months in the hospital. At the time we were purchasing this car, the Doctors were talking about my son requiring multiple surgeries. Our heads were completely not in the right mind state. All I knew, was that my car was now broken, my hubby had to work during the day, and I NEEDED to be at the hospital with our son. We told AutoList our story and they said they could help us out and get us in and out with our vehicle by end day. What great people we thought!

Well, the SUV I was looking at was no longer there and apparently my credit was so bad that all I could manage to get was a 'dinky car'-and this was with my hubby cosigning (I should have known right there and then-but like I said, our minds were elsewhere). The sales rep we dealt with was not wearing professional clothing to say the least-but we just figured 'wow this place is cool, they are all so laid back'..HA boy were we wrong! Anyhow, I test drove a 2004 Dodge Neon and it was okay. Then they got me to test drive another vehicle (can't remember which one). Well when I stepped on the gas, the gas peddle was loose. I continued to drive it. Well not only was the right passengere mirror missing but also, it wreaked like smoke. I opened the ashtray and found it full of ashes and butts! We went back to the dealership and told them we definatly were not interrested in that one. So we decided to go for the neon.

Well they worked with me to make my payments affordable, had hubby and I sign all the papers required to sign and away we went. Oh, and this was after one of the other sales rep decided to give his phone number to my underage cousin who had come car shopping with us. Well the following day when the sun was out, I really got in my car and took a look at it. Well I had 4 stone chips in the windshield and cigarette burns in the seat. Lovely. Oh well, at this point, my priority was to get down to the hospital and be with my son.

Well 2 days after I 'bought' the car my check engine light came on. Of course there was nothing AutoList could do about it. I was on my own to get it fixed. Not to mention all the other problems I had with the car. A 'lemon' for a car was the last thing I needed at this point. But, I had to deal with it because it got me from point A to point B.

After 4 long months, my son finally came home. Hubby and I were busying finally being able to enjoy our son in our own home and life was going smoothly. That was until a friend had noticed the AutoList sticker on the back of our car. He told us his difficulties with the company and told us to look over our contract. We didn't have the time. Then as time went on, a few other friends had mentioned the same thing. It got to the point where I had to remove the sticker off of the back of my car because I was so ashamed to be involved with this company.

Finally, hubby and I looked over our contract. What an absolute NIGHTMARE!! We realized that we were LEASING the car and had not bought it like we thought. We then did the math and it turns out in the 4 years we would have had the car, we would have paid 26 000 +taxes for the car (once we bought it out at the end of the lease). If we were to return the vehicle after the lease was up, it would still cost 24 000. More than 3 times what it is worth! I couldn't believe this!
We started searching online for a way out and found no hope. There was nothing illegal in our contract because we had signed everything willingly. Boy were we stupid. So we went to a car dealership by our place to see if there was anyway we could trade in the vehicle or do something about the situation we were in. The sales rep looked over our contract and said there was nothing he could do. Boy was he wrong!
So the following day we went down to AutoList to talk to someone in the finance department. It turns out that there is a $5 000 lease termination fee. We asked her if we were to give the car back after the lease was up, would we be required to pay that fee. She said yes. We asked if we buy the car outright , would we have to pay that fee..she said yes. In the end, the only way out of paying that fee was releasing another car from AutoList. WASN'T GONNA HAPPEN!! Especially since the whole time I had the vehicle, he made NOT ONE SINGLE REPORT TO THE CREDIT BUREAU!!! Even though all my payments were made in full and on time.

Anyhow, we pulled out our original copy of our 'lease agreement' and was going over it with one of the finance women. She pulled out her original copy of the lease agreement. I thought, that's weird, why are there two originals. So I went over them and noticed that the numbers for my payments didn't match up, which would turn out that I would be paying more in the long run. When I asked her why, she didn't know. She went to go ask Ishwar why this was and what to do. His response was that he did not know, and for my hubby and I to 'pick one' ..ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Wasn't going to happen either. I packed up my stuff and walked out of there at my wits end.

A friend of my hubby's ended up referring us to VICKAR NISSAN on Regent Avenue and told us to ask for Wayne and that he would try and help us out. So we had nothig to loose and just wanted out of this mess. We went down there and spoke with Wayne and Adriano (AMAZING MEN and such BIG help!!- I should probably say that I cried to them, not spoke LOL) They told us what we already knew-we got ripped off big time. They said they would do all they can to help us, and they did. While Wayne and Adriano looked over finance things, hubby and I test drove a Nissan Rogue and fell in love. When we got back from the test ride, we also met with Egilio (who was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING as well!!) They did not beat around the bush with us, and they didn't pressure us into buying anything. They basically just simply tried to help us. They looked over our contract, & looked over our buy out of the Neon. At the end of the day, Egilio felt very confident that he could get us out of our AutoList mess and into the Nissan Rogue. We put a deposit down in order to hold the rogue because it would take a few days to look into paperwork and really make sure. And make a few phone calls to AutoList (not a simple trade in when it comes to dealing with AutoList).

By the following week hubby and I found ourselves at Vickar Nissan again, and again I was crying. But, I was crying happy tears! I was smiling and for the first time in weeks, I did not feel sick to my stomach in stress. I traded in my neon and walked out with my new 2011 Nissan Rogue! I make affordable payments on it, for only 5 years and I got more warranty than I know what to do with!! Yes in the end I have 16 000 (the buy out of the neon) negative equity on the Rogue but in the end, it's better to loose out on 16 000 than 30 000. And atleast now , my vehicle payments are building my credit and not ruining it. And I don't got to deal with that crooked place some would call AutoList of Canada Winnipeg!

Oh I also forgot to mention, that when Egilio looked into buying the Neon from AutoList, he ended up finding out that there were 2 other leans, plus me on the vehicle. How ridiculous is that!! But it apparently states in his contract that he is entitled to do that. Which makes it legal.

So all in all, I am an AutoList survivor who didn't have to go bankrupt!! Instead, I am building my credit, I have a new vehicle, I don't deal with AutoList, I deal with ABSOLUTE FANTASTIC UNBELIEVABLY KIND, SYMPATHETIC , HELPFUL people from Vickar Nissan. I can't even explain how much they have helped my hubby and I. We are truly TRULY grateful to them and will spend the rest of our lives thankful to them for their honesty and kind hearts and for welcoming us into their dealership with open arms, sympathy and the feeling of someone truly wanting to help us no matter how much work and stress it caused them as well to have to deal with AutoList in order to get the car off of our hands.

To Ishwar, Thank you!! Thank you for screwing me over! Thank you for taking 15 000 away from my son and my family. Thank you for showing me how selfish and absolutely disgusting some people can be. Shame on you!! Believe me, I will let it be known what you have done.

To Wayne, Egilio and Adriano (and Vickar Nissan) THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Thank you for getting me out of this mess and saving me so much more money in the long haul. Thank you for taking hours to sit down and discuss options with us, look over our contract, and listening to me cry LOL. You guys are absolute beautiful people and may God bless you all. I will not only see you in 3 years when my hubby goes in to buy his new TITAN he cant get off his mind but also in 5 years when I come in to trade my Rogue for another. We are lifelong customers!!

Im telling you people, go check out Vickar Nissan and tell them Kayla & Jon (Nebel) sent you! They will definatly try and help as best as they can. Better yet, call Wayne @ 204 990 9101 - What do you got to loose?

Awesome dealership!: I recently went to Auto List as I was looking to purchase a 2009 Smart Passion, and I found one on their website. I was negotiating with two Dealerships and Auto List came up with the best price! The vehicle that I purchased was not exactly what I was looking for; however, chose to purchase it anyway. As Christmas was soon arriving, I left a deposit and agreed to pick up the vehicle between Christmas and New Year's.

When I arrived at the Dealership, I was advised by Nik that sometime in the immediate future (within hours) there would be another unit arriving which did meet my "ideal car" specifications to the finest detail. I was then introduced to the Owner of Auto List, who told me more about the soon to be arriving vehicle. I was immediately intrigued, but thinking all the while "how many more of my dollars would be required to turn the deal on the ideal vehicle!"

I readies myself for another gruelling battle of wits, but to my astonishment, was told by the Owner that the arrived upon price for the previously negotiated vehicle could still stand! What is this? You offer me a more desirable vehicle at the same price I would have paid for the lesser car? Indeed it was true! We were interrupted in our talks to be advised that the unit had this minute arrived and was being run through the wash. After one look, I agreed whole heartily to this new change-up!

After about one week, Nik called to advise the vehicle had been safetied and tidied up and was ready for delivery. The vehicle was in my driveway later that day.

A would have written about my most positive experience sooner; however, it took a couple of weeks and several hundred kilometres for me to be sure the car was really a sound unit. And indeed it is!

I thank-you for this fine car and for the experience of dealing with your company! I have probably bought and sold some 20 or 25 cards over my lifetime. I keep them a long time (I'm an older guy). This car deal is one that I will remember for many years to come! I will tell this story many times as the years pass!

Thanks again Auto List! I will be back!
