The food is lowbrow diner-the Lycra-clad Kits crowd comes here to dish on last night's revelry rather than to revel in the dishes-and there are always long lineups on weekends, but service is speedy once inside.

A huge brunch menu, fast and efficient service, reasonable prices, and great eggs Benedict (plus the some of the best French toast in Vancouver) turn this little cafe into a packed dining room by 10am on weekends, when guests spill out the doorway and up the long, steep sidewalk. Sandal-clad traffic from Kits Beach (next door) heads here for breakfast and lunch during the week.

Frills? No. Damn good brunch on a dime? Absolutely. Mom and pop diner packs it full with sandal-sporting boys and Spicoli-ettes in need of nourishment.
