The Cellar inhabits that netherworld between dance club, bar, meat market, and personals ads. Dance-club characteristics include a cover charge, small dance floor, and a DJ who mostly spins Top 40. But Cellar patrons are far less interested in groovin' than they are in meeting other Cellar dwellers, a process facilitated by a wall-length message board upon which pickup lines are posted.

Weekends here see bigger crowds and lots of choice grade Granville Strip loin, but Wednesdays and Thursdays feature rock and hip hop DJs packing the dance floor.
