Unscrupulous, sells your info!: Awful customer service. I think the owner is there but likes to say that she must defer to owner's decision. My friend wanted to exchange a size that was a gift from me and sales person gave her hell for trying to return it even though she'd received it as a gift and had no idea about the policies. I'm certain they sell your information when you register on 'their' mailing list as my friend, who purchased a gift for me, received numerous mailings from different companies when she only registered here for baby stuff. As a side note, the car seat technician is excellent. But I strongly discourage anyone to visit this place. I don't know why this place stays in business when they do such an awful job and treat customers so poorly.

Ignores paying customers!: I visited this store with my husband and six month old son to purchase a high chair. After looking around and waiting for someone to help us, I approached a staff member. She paged sales to come to high chairs. AND NO ONE CAME! We waited more than 15 minutes with our infant son, then decided to leave. From what we saw, there were two cashiers and one person on the floor ON A SATURDAY.

Clearly based on previous reviews, this store doesn't care about the customer. After visiting several other baby stores, you think they would know to have more staff available on a Saturday.

Even though there is selection and savings, we would rather spend our money at a store that appreciates our business. I will tell everyone I know not to shop here.

UPDATE: After submitting a complaint, I received an apologetic phone call from the operations manager at Dearborn Baby. No excuses, just an apology for a bad experience and a thank you for bringing this to their attention. I hope it improves for the next person. The phone call was greatly appreciated.

Staff is downright rude! Several bad experiences!: I have been to this store on several occasions over a period of 4 years. And I have bad experiences every time. Unfortunately this store is most conveniently located for me so I usually come here out of desparation. When I was pregnant with my first child, the salesperson tried to talk my husband and I into buying TWO separate expensive strollers (one for me and one for him), she must have been on commission or something. I did end up getting a stroller, that later on required some maintenance because it wouldn't recline. Yet another rude salesperson told me I had to pay $30 to fix the recline, and wouldn't look on her computer to confirm that it was under warranty because I didn't bring my receipt with me. I called the store back later that day when I found my receipt and the store credited me back the amount that I should have never been charged. On other occasions, when I told the staff I was just browsing around, they walk away (again, must be the commission?)

Now that I have 2 kids, and I have been to a number of other specialty baby stores, my advice to all new parents would be to avoid this store at all costs!

Dearborn baby - worst store ever!: Dearborn Baby is the WORST baby stores I've been to across Toronto and the GTA. They told me at the Baby Show that I would get a $50 gift cert for registering with them. I verified 3 times there wasn't a catch, ie: have to put a certain value of items or have certain number purchased, all 3 times I was told no. Then when I did it (wasting 2 hours of my life) they said, "everything on the registry has to be purchased before we send it out". Not only that, my friends bought my change table for me from Dearborn, they said it would take 4-6 weeks. 8 weeks later they said it still wasn't in and it wasn't their fault - no aplogies, nothing. That same day I was called back with a message "Sorry you weren't called earlier but the change table is here". When I called back I asked, "How long has it been there?". They wouldn't tell me and just said "Well, regardless, It's here now". Then I get a call from a friend of mine who I had seen a few times and she said, "I just want to made sure since you haven't said anything...did you get the presents I bought you?" (I was so embarrassed! Presents were purchased almost 2 months ago and just sitting at the store - NOBODY CALLED ME or informed me in anyway and I had been in the store a handful of times and called about the change table a few times. Worst customer service ever - will never step foot in the store again.
