Customer Service is not up to standard: My future fiance and I had shopped around for an engagement ring in Alberta. We live in Vernon and decided to compare prices in our home town. We went to Furmanek's because someone else we know had bought a gold bracelet from there and said they got a good deal. We went in and were not that impressed with the customer service. The jeweller who is the Son of the original owner, did not at any time explain the 5 c's of diamonds, nor did he take out his jeweller's eye to show us the diamonds that we were about to purchase. We did however THINK we were getting a good deal because the jeweller was giving us a "No Tax" deal cash only. Well it turns out that now 3 months later the same ring is even cheaper than what we thought were getting a discount price. Also I had to bring my ring back as I found a flaw in the gold smithing. When I went back with the ring to show him the flaw, it was like I was being too picky, he said he could not send it back to the manufacturer as they would just laugh. I'm sure that a gold smith could touch up the flaw with a small spot of gold. Where the two sides join up with the actual diamond setting one of the sides has a space in it and the other side does not. This is unaceptable to me. We paid 2400$ cash for this ring and it is not a small amount of chump change to us. Maybe to him it's not a big enough sale but for us it was huge. Also the ring is not as good of a quality as we had expected it to be. The ring we chose he said we would get those diamonds but in reality we did not as the diamonds we have (3) are cloudy. It does not match up to the actual description in the appraisal. I would not suggest for anyone to buy diamonds from this store, and we will not be going back for sure. I'm now waiting to see what he plans on doing for my ring, which he took and I had to ask for the tag for it? Sheesh, isn't that part of leaving something to be done, give the customer the tag for reciept of it? HMMM maybe he needs to be trained properly, I wonder if his Dad knows of his poor customer service?
