Awesome Store!!!: We all want the best for our kids, in the outdoor clothing department look no further. This store has it all, everything you could ever need to outfit your kids for the outdoors. They carry the best of the best for kids, the same brands that we as adults like to buy for ourselves. Brands like North Face, Helly Hansen, Columbia, Cross, Sorel, Merrel, Blundstone to name a few. I was amazed at the selection of products offered at this store. The staff is very knowledgeable with all there products and I have found the customer service to be excellent. The bottom line is they want you to be happy with your purchase as they will stand by their products. I love this store and will continue shopping there as my kids continue to grow.

The service was exceptional: We were looking for good quality winter clothes for our kids. All the usual places like Old Navy, Sears and Sport Chek did not have what we wanted. Until we discovered The Great Outdoors! The service from the women that work there was exceptional. They outfitted all 4 of our kids with the best looking and most technical clothing and boots out there. I can't believe that this store has been around for over 8 years. I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for exceptional quality and service.

very poor customer service, scary in fact: I am a 46 year old mom that has shopped at this store for six years. I was a good frequent customer. I purchased a high end ski jacket for my eight year old daughter last year. My daughter wore the jacket infrequently over the last winter. I washed it for the first time today and when I took it out of the washer I noticed that the jacket had four holes where it looked like the material had fallen apart. The coat is a very light color and it did not come clean. I washed it according to the tag inside it. I called the store and told the owner what I had found. She said bring it in. I did. She started off by being very aggressive and saying there was no way this happened in the washer and that the coat had been caught on something. I had checked the coat over carefully before I washed it and cleaned out the pockets. Basically I was called a liar. Then I mentioned that it did not come clean and why would that be. She told me that I had not washed the coat enough. The coat was not that dirty and it was just a small amount of dirt that did not come out but it was visible on such a light colored coat. She then insulted me saying that I had not used my common sense and washed it more often. I have to say at this point I was in shock at how I was being treated. I told her that I thought she was being rude and that I would not shop there again. She went crazy then and told me to get out of her store. Followed me to the door. The sad part of all this is that my eight year old daughter witnessed her mother being treated this way. I stopped at the store door to wait for my daughter. The owner put her hands up as though she was going to physically assault me while I was waiting for my daughter. I asked her right before she was going to touch me whether she really wanted to put her hands on me. She followed us outside the store into the parking lot all the way to our car yelling at us. I had to get in my car and lock the doors. I debated on whether I should call the police. She finally went back in her store. Anyway, I am writing this to let other potential customers know that it is really buyer beware at this store. Scary for both my daughter and I.

A concerned mom.
