A Good Sunday Outing: Huble Homestead must have a mailing address in town but is certainly not located as the accompanying map shows at the corner of Prince Rupert and 3rd downtown! This old settler days era homestead is a small version of the larger period locales like Barkerville or Upper Canada Village in Ontario. It's pretty low key but they are steadily organizing events through the spring to fall that are well run and entertaining - we always head out for their dog days and sometimes at Victoria Day or Thanksgiving and mull about the little general store, blacksmith shop and old farmhouse. It's a lovely place to bring out of town visitors with a nice amble beside the Fraser where you can imagine earlier times when that river was the only "highway."
