For one thing, it's a step back in time, dating to 1871 (it claims to be the oldest grocery store in North America). As engagingly, it maintains an international selection of foods whose expanse is usually found only in shops 20 times its size.

In business since 1871, this atmospheric, old-fashioned shop in an early-1800s building in the lower town claims to be the oldest grocery store in North America. The courteous, knowledgeable servers will be happy to answer your questions about the various delicacies on sale, such as Québecois cheese and pâté of Arctic caribou with mushrooms.
