Sooo good: Okay, I don't know much about Japanese food that isn't sushi (sushi fanatic) but living in the area and always seeing this place with a line up made me super curious. Low budget person myself I was waiting for a special occasion to go. Last night was the night, and oh man now I want to go every week. There was a long line up and I was surprised at how quickly we actually got a table, plus since we've never been before it was great just watching the dishes be handed out as it really makes your mouth water and gives a great idea of all the wonderful dishes. Me and my boyfriend got 4 dishes to share between us, pork check, Yakitori (chicken brochette), pork neck and some rice with pork over it. They have lots of the things on the menu that aren't pork but my boyfriend was dying to try the pork dishes. I really wanted salmon head but its only for lunch (its the kind of place where you want everything on the menu and are mapping out your next meal and the waitress was nice enough to ask the chef for me). My favorite dish was the pork check - it was fantastic. The rice one was a bit bland for me, and didnt compare to the rest. The meal was under $40 and we didn't even mange to finish everything, pork neck left over today - yummy. It was great that all the dishes were around $10 so you can try lots of different one and the size is very generous. The service was great too, very quick and accomadating. Felt like I was back in Vancouver, you cant get better Japanese in Montreal then Kazu.
