New Year's Eve Bust: Purchased 3 tickets ($120 total) for our household members to attend the Yuk Yuk's Comedy show at Lava Ultra Lounge on New Year's Eve. Waitress that sold me tickets approx. 2-3 weeks prior to the event told me it would be a Vietnamese Buffet served at approx. 6:30. Show slated to start at 8pm. We were seated at 6:30pm, and weren't greeted by our server for approx. 15 minutes. It took 15 more minutes to receive our beverages (1 of which was out of stock). Didn't receive cream for coffee as requested, or even a spoon to stir it (until 1 hour later, and I'm not even exagerating!) Could tell right away that our server was stunned to say the least. No clue whatsoever. Table of 18 beside us - receiving horrible service as well. Waitress rarely had paper to keep track of orders, we saw everyone sitting with empty glasses for a long time, likely 20-30 minutes before she tried to offer them another beverage. Noticed the menu had been changed from the buffet to a chicken or steak choice, individual plate service, along with atlantic prawns or mushroom soup for appy, and cheesecake or fruit cocktail for dessert. We received our appy (at approx. 7:30pm) after the table of 18 was beginning to receive their entree. My plate was ONE prawn, sliced in half and tasted so awful I couldn't eat it. One word: MUSHY. Prawn was accompanied by 2 tbsp of coleslaw. Mushroom soup was too spicy and tepid at best. Patrons that had tickets for the show only (not dinner) were made to stand in front of the bar and wait. Staff showed no organization. Could've been bread on the table to keep us going while they figured out what they were doing. Should've had cutlery and serviettes on the table to save them another step when bringing out food. Every customer's face was set in a frown, literally. Everyone was just waiting for something.....and there was nothing. Finally, when I offered my skills as a server to simply help out clearing tables and running food or beverages for FREE, I was turned down. Head waitress stated that they had everything under control. We received a refill on beverages at 8:00pm, and decided to leave the restaurant at 8:15. Since we'd just spent $120 on c@!%!y food and crappier service, we headed for Burger King and got home at 8:40pm. Very sad situation. Do not recommend this site for food or service - they don't focus on what's important, or even the basics in the least.

Worst ever!: Total rip-off for a $40 New Year's Eve ticket. Service was horrendous; food portions (appetizer received only) were pathetic; missed the entertainment which was late if it came on at all, because we left to got to a place that would give us service. Have never been to a New Year's Eve event where there was not a streamer or horn-blower to be found. They had no clue how to handle a New Year's Eve crowd. Hugely disappointing. System won't let me give a zero star rating but that's what they deserve.
