Customers are NOT valued at this Establishment - Beware!: Here is an email that I just wrote to the shop about my experience at this establishment, so you guys can expect the same kind of service when you go (though I'd recommend this place, instead for more down-to-earth service: brewerycreekliq....

Dear Lennox Liquor Store Owner:

I was just at your store about 20 minutes ago and encountered a situation that needs clarification. Your clerk refused my purchase stating that it is store policy that she does not have to serve me if I'm on the phone. I advised her that there was nothing I could do, as this was a very important call (and no, I did not drive to your store thinking that this call would come in). She said I was rude and uttered something under her breath that basically told me she did not want my business. I was told that this behaviour was store policy, so I want to clarify that with you, as I frequent your shop as my choice for wines that I enjoy. In the past, I have experienced wonderful, helpful staff who have helped me to discover wines that I never knew existed. I also have a heart from small businesses and try my best to support them, rather than the larger conglomarates, wherever possible. However, if this is indeed your store's policy, I will no longer be supporting your establishment and will advise those in my sphere of influence via mouth and web that this is the case.

I would appreciate your attention to this matter. Needless to say, I did not get the wine that I took the time to choose and wanted to purchase.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

Linda

Some of you might be thinking that it was rude of me to be on my phone, but as I explained, this was an extenuating situation ( I do not make a habit of staying on the phone when checking out, as I am an extremely considerate person, so much so that I never put change on the counter, but always directly into the clerk's hands because it's more respectful - how's that for ironic?) and I did stop enough to acknowledge to the clerk that I just couldn't get off the phone, completely. I wasn't even speaking, just listening, as it was a conference call and I didn't know how to activate my mute button on my new Blackberry. In any case, I don't see how calling a customer "extremely rude" and continuing to mutter something under her breathe, is anything close to excellent service.

I did receive an email back on the same day and was told that it is acceptable for the clerk to refuse service if someone is on the phone when approaching the till.

Whatever happened to the days where customers came first?
