Danielle: I bought a wedding ring and the diamonds kept falling out of it. Took it back to get fixed twice in the month and a half I had the ring. The first time the diamonds fell apart 5 min after my husband left the store - even before I put it on. Now I cant get my money back - only another ring or buy something else in that store. I had to get another ring with them and I have to wait 4-6 weeks to get it. Total disappointment. Will never shop there again.

Poor Service, only cares about the initial sale: I apologize in advance for the length of this review. My fiance purchased my engagement ring from Leon last year, and it was sort of an under the table transaction. The ring is white gold with 3 marquise diamonds. Although the ring is beautiful, I immediately noticed that the center diamond is NOT set straight. You really have to look to see it, but it's there. Also I had been wearing the ring for less than 6 months before the band started to discolor (started turning yellow). I had read that this is normal for white gold, but not that soon after being made. We took it back to him, and he fixed it, no problem. The real problems came when my fiance told him that we wanted to get an appraisal on the ring for insurance purposes (this was never offered or given originally). Within a week or so, Leon did up an "appraisal" or basic description of the ring, including a photo. I read over it and saw that they had described the diamonds as Princess cut, not marquise. So back we went, and they corrected it for us. A month or so later I began the process of applying for tenant's insurance, and I wanted to get special coverage for my ring, since Leon had listed its value at over $6000. The insurance company we decided on wouldn't accept the document he'd given me, because it didn't say on there that Leon was a certifed appraiser. So I called him up myself, asked him if he was a bona fide appraiser, and he told me "of course". He then told me to bring in the document, and he would add his appraiser stamp. Why that wouldn't have been done in the first place, I don't know. So I went into the store when Leon was supposed to be in, and he wasn't there. I told one of the girls what I needed, and she proceeded to type up a new document identical to the one I already had, complete with a new picture. Then she asked me, "what was it that you needed on here again?" and I told her I needed Leon's stamp. She said my ring might need to be sent away for the proper appraisal, and I told her that wasn't what Leon specifically had told me. She told me Leon would be in within 5 minutes and I could talk to him. He walked into the store, briefly looked at me, and then scurried off into his little room to work on some jewellery! I then sat there for about 15 minutes, meanwhile the two employees were standing there talking to each other. Finally they both told him that I was there waiting for him. He would not even come out and speak to me! One of the girls told me that yes, in fact, my ring would need to be sent to an office downtown to get a proper appraisal, at a cost of $75! I said that I would not pay that, because Leon himself told me that wouldn't be required. She said they could probably lower the price for me to $40, and I still stood my ground and said no. Finally Leon told her that it would be no charge, so I agreed. So I gave them my ring AGAIN since it was going to take a few days. I asked them to call me when it was ready and I would come pick it up. They told me it should be in by the next day at 3pm, and again I asked them to please call me when it was ready. They ended up calling me the next day at about 4:30. I asked my fiance to come with me to pick it up, in case I had any problems. Leon was there and warmly greeted my fiance and I, even though he had given me the cold shoulder just the day before. Apparently he has no respect for women unless their boyfriend/fiance/husband is with them. The ring looked fine and the appraisal was fine, but the biggest difference was that the listed value was HALF of what Leon had said it was worth. In my opinion, he lied through his teeth and is not a certified appraiser at all. In summary, he only cares about his initial sale and getting your money; after that, he never wants to see you again unless its to by something else. He dug his own grave though because we certainly won't be ordering our wedding bands from him, or anything else for that matter. In fact, I've already ordered my wedding band from Ben Moss; they are much better and the quality is better too. Don't go to Leon if you want good service, it's just not worth it.
