Not what it seems: Markwin Pet Resort seems like a fun loving place for animals. They have daycare, boarding, obedience, and the owner is also a breeder. Little do people know it is all a curtain and whats behind it is awful. I use to be an employee there so I have seen it all.

The way some people handle the dogs is absolutely appalling. There are some people there who don't want to deal with a "difficult dog" who may be there for daycare and they will keep that dog in kennel most of the day when a parent thinks they are outside playing with others. This happens more than people think. Also, the kennel food the pet resort provides is EXPIRED. Yet they charge people $1.00 per bowl if it. It is also not always the best brands and sometimes its brands for specific breeds. Some of the staff (not all--some) also lie to customers. There was an incident where an employee told a customer a dog would have a nice big comfy kennel and when they left the employee kept the dog in a crate in the gym and never once told the owner.

Another thing, during busy seasons they DO NOT say no to people for boarding, there for the place gets packed. The christmas passed there was over 100 dogs. I believe the max complicity for this kennel is a little over 40. It was hectic and some dogs were in crates that were way to small for them. It was disheartening.

Lastly, the owner is a breeder. On the mark win pet resort website it states his puppies have "frequent health checks, are fed a top quality dog food, and live in his home with his family." I know from first hand that the dogs DO NOT live with his family one on one. Yes they live in the house, but where?.. In the basement in small crates. They stay there all day unless are going outside to pee/poo which then they are outside in a very small run that is not big enough for them all. So he doesn't support puppy mills yet his puppies live in cages/crates there whole lives and do not interact with his own family and kids at all. Also docking tails, and sending puppies away to get there ears done? I don't care what people think, that is cruelty.

So why has no employee got him in trouble yet? I'll tell you why, because every one is too scared too. If you speak you mind and tell him he is doing something wrong you get "laid off".

I could go on and on, but point of is this place is not whats its cracked up to be. Like I said, I really was an employee there. I have seen it all and I would never let my dog or cat every stay there.
