Great Place to Eat: I've dined with my family on three different occasions at this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The restaurant is a beautifully restored mill on the edge of a small river. The patio area overlooks the river and adjacent golf course and has a very nice view. We found the service very prompt and efficient although we do try and avoid their busiest times. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. It has turned into one of our favourite spots to dine out.

Absolutely, the worst service ever. Very rude proprietor.: I had a reservation for 22 guests on Sunday April, 18th, to celebrate the baptism of my daughter. The food was fine but the service was the worst I have ever received. We were 12 minutes late, (I called to advise a half an hour early but had to leave a message because no one answered the phone). Once we arrived first thing said to us from the hostess/owner Mrs. Lauralee Craig was, "This is why we don't take reservations, I was just about to break up the tables, reservations never work here." (NICE GREETING for a group about to spend $500). When we were seated a waitress came around for coffee but then we didn't see her again. We were not asked if we wanted any other drinks. I went to the bar and the kitchen area to ask for a waitress and one finally came over. I ordered 4 bottles of wine and it took at least 10 minutes to get served. Once we had the wine on the table there were only 6 wine glasses because the server dropped and broke some and then never returned to bring the rest of the glasses. When we finally got the rest of the glasses some people in our party were finishing their meals. I personally had to remove used plates from our tables; I removed at least 15 and handed them to waitresses by the kitchen door. Several times there were no plates available for the buffet. I had to ask to get the tartar sauce refilled on the buffet. After the meal we weren't asked if we wanted dessert or aperitifs, the waitress just brought the bill and set on the table. She then came by and asked for the bill even before we were finished. My father-in-law had to go speak with the person working at the bar to order some after dinner drinks on a separate bill. This was only my second time at Mill Tales, the other time was with just my wife, so I'm not sure if the poor service was due to such a large group or an off day, but it was pathetic. I will never bring a large group back again. I sent this letter to Mrs. Craig to which one of her retorts was, I "trust that as Christians, you will have some understanding and compassion for lifes situations.<br/>
If we had stuck by our rule to not take reservations I am certain it would have run much better....I did see you carry some plates. Thank -you for your help."<br/>
A complete and utter disaster of customer service!<br/><br/>I should have read the reviews on other sites first...live and learn. One good thing about this experience, it prompted me to start writing reviews.
