Irresponsible dishonest people at Payless Car Rental: My plane landed at 5:30 am today at Toronto airport. I was flying from L.A. I had a reservation for five days for 250 dollars. When I called the Payless at Airport Road, it took them 1 hr to come to pick me up at Viscount station. The guy who was driving the Honda was very reckless in driving. He did not stop at stop signs and he did not give yield to others and was speeding because he had to go and drop off some people at the airport. When I got there, there were two Mazdas to rent but the lady at the counter could not go online and check my reservation. There was a sign on the counter saying 10 dollars charge for using a credit card. I had already used my credit card to make a reservation. She also said it is limited mileage. I had to pay to miles if I were from Toronto and unlimited for people from outside of Ontario. My reservation said 'unlimited mileage' and I showed her my US drivers lisence. Then she said that I have to pay additional taxes on top of 94 dollars I was paying for the taxes. My reservation for one week was 160 dollars plus 94 dollars for taxes in total. So when I found that these people are dishonest and are trying to prey on foreign tourists and visitors, I changes my mind and left the place. They even do not respect their own rules. I then walked all the way back to Viscount station and then terminal 1 and took a bus to where my family lives. I dislike dishonest people and who have no honour and respect for the law. On my way back to Viscount station, I saw the same guy who picked me up driving into Airport road from a street without stopping at the stop sign and pulled in front of another car and speeding. This guy is very careless and dangerous to the well being of renters who take a ride with him and the public. He must be stopped and his drivers liscenc revoked. And last, do not rent a car from Payless. There are a bunch of crook and liars who say something on internet and do the opposite in front of you. They create additional charges to rip off foreign visitors. I government of Ontario must shut down these places and stop them from mistreating foreign visitors. Finally I went to Enterprise car rental and got a much much better deal for half a price. I was shocked to see the difference. Do not trust these phoney companies that appear like mushrooms overnight and have no honour and respect for others.

MM

Worst experienced rental/service EVER: Do NOT rent from these robbers. Period. First when we booked the car we were told they had a booth on site at Pearson Int'l. They do not. The pick'up area wasn't even marked, we ended up wasting 40min trying to A) locate the area, then B) contacting our booking agent (long distance) to have them send a van out..unmarked..which when it did finally arrive drove us 7min OFF SITE to a hole in the wall rental location. We were then informed that there is a $10/day fee in addition to our agreement for my spouse to also drive. On booking we were told (because I asked specifically, again) that the quote included ALL FEES. Ok. so it's late, we're not near any other rental places. We'll just go with it...no problem right? Not right. The vehicle is Damaged, and on inspection (in the dark away from clear lighting) the damage is recorded as best we can not because the agent pointed it out but because we insisted it be recorded. We should have gone with our gut and walked away. My spouse said, don't be surprised if these guys try to pull a fast one, just the feeling we left with...and guess what? It's 6 weeks later (and 6 days before Christmas) and I have a $900 charge from Payless pending on my credit card...WHAT? For what? Zero notice, no contact from Payless. This still has to be cleared up, but I will hollar to everyone within earshot that these guys are robbers, shady "businessmen" . Never EVER again. Don't go there, you'll regret it.

Disgruntled and Ripped off
