Price's Alarms Are Wonderful: I've been lucky enough to have always used Price's Alarms at every company I've ever worked with. Because of my technical background I always ended up as first call for the alarm system. Price's Alarms are a great bunch of people dealing with security the way all alarm companies should. I've never had a bad dealing with them and have always found the monitoring station guys who call you in the middle of the night to be wonderful.

All you need to do to make up your own mind about whether you should use them is to take a walk down any street in Victoria and see what name is on almost every window - It is almost always Price's Alarms. To me that is the very best recommendation and reason to use them.

Call them up and you get to talk to a real person and not an answering machine which I very much appreciate. They are a local company too - not a big national company with people that don't know where Esquimalt is. Not too many local companies left - this one is the only alarm company I'd leave the security of my home or business to and I've been dealing with them for 20 years now - Thank you for the great service Price's Alarms!

Very misleading unfair and untruthful staff.: I purchased a home security system from them and due to being self employed, asked them if I could pay for a whole year up front to avoid credit checks as they decrease your beacon score and can affect your credit( although I have excellent credit ). The salesman assured me that since I wasn't needing credit by paying up front, they wouldn't do one, which they later did disregarding their promise ( I still call this LYING ) I have this agreement on the contract written by the sales agent.. Just over a year prior to my contract being up with them, I had to move and asked if I could have them install a new system in the new place and then continue my contract there. I was told at that point they didn't service that area; So I installed a system through a local company here in Kamloops. About a week after installing the new system, I got a call from Rick Dwyer ( the sales agent from Price ) , telling me that he made a mistake and they indeed do have service there and have well over a hundred clients there and could do the install. Unfortunately by then I already signed up for another 3 yr contract. So I was told they would pick up monitoring when my other contract lapsed to make up for their mistake. Well upon my contact ending with the second company, I re contacted Price. Well they thought they could really take me for a ride and must have assumed I was an idiot. They agreed to re connect with an exhoberant install fee, reconnection fee and then forcing me to also sign up for another 3 yr contract, absolutely sick and twisted these guys are. In essence, the deal was so bad, I could get a new system installed by nearly any major security company for less INCLUDING monitoring for what they were offering. They essentially wanted to railroad me into either accepting to overpay them like crazy for their dishonesty or get nothing. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend that people not use this company. Choose a company that has outlets in most major cities and does not try to screw their clients. As I am in business myself, I expect nothing for nothing, but when I make a mistake, I personally take responsibility both financially and otherwise for that and don't expect to make my client pay for it. Should Price's Alarms even try to argue these claims, I have emails and the original contract with hand written amendments at hand to prove my points. DO NOT reward dishonesty and client disregard by dealing with these people !! If you have ever been treated wrongly, don't just walk away. Post reviews and heed the warnings of others so that we may punish these terrible, disgusting business people and practices with our refusal to put up with it. It's about time we stop taking c@!p from dishonest businesses, no matter how good the initial deal sounds. Need I say I am EXTREMELY unhappy with this company ? !!

beware of sales techniques: I experienced 3 sides of Prices Alarms: sales, installation and monitoring. The installation was fine. The monitoring is, so far, fine. However, the sales team described one system to me, made 2 "mistakes" on the price (and forgot to mention a major change), and then charged me a higher price for the installed system. I complained to the BBB but Prices was very slick (by providing incomplete and twisted info) and the matter was "administratively judged resolved" -- in other words the BBB can't do anything and whatever Prices says, goes. So the warning is: get everything in writing ahead of time; look for "mistakes" in pricing; don't assume anything -- write it down on the "contract" (even if it doesn't look like the contract); and don't sign anything unless you agree to it 100% (subject to the previous points)! Yes, standard stuff, but Prices is taking my signature on the monitoring contract as my agreement to the system price, which had an "error" in it (and where I was not signing to agree on system price but only monitoring). Also, Prices asked me to sign after an extra sensor was installed to confirm its installation, but the fine print say I agree to the price on the form -- another misrepresentation. It's not worth a prolonged fight, but the fact remains it's $200 extra I have been conned out of.
