Love the new digital!: Have always subscribed to keep up on the news but am just trying out the digital version and really like it.

Locally good!: I think for the most part, the Citizen does a fair job. Some days I must admit that I am a little dissapointed in the size of the paper...but for the most part I enjoy there coverage of Prince George.

Could benefit from competition.: Right now the Citizen is average. There are many errors per day that could be fixed with a simple look over of articles, who is the editor? Their online site is even worse and there was even a whole story written around a wrong fact. I would like to see this establishment improve into a true news source. I want more current reporting, more local news, a larger technology section, and to return the comics to what they were before.

Improving (he said sweetly): One worries a bit saying anything too unpleasant about the co-sponsor of the current Weblocal contest. iPads are very nice :-). In fact I am a very frequent correspondent to the Citizen and cannot honestly say that I have loved it over the years. Until recently they had developed a Time Magazine like mania for punning their headlines, an approach that gets tiresome and is often inappropriate. But since the new managing editor started, that's gone and I do see a greater commitment to giving us the straight goods rather than having some writer show off his or her dubious penmanship. Certainly compared to the Free Press (which is priced exactly at its value) this is the only show in town.
