Constructed in 1838 by stonemason Thomas MacKay, Rideau Hall has been the home and workplace of Canada's Governor General since Confederation in 1867. Boasting an opulent interior, diverse art collection, and expansive gardens, the residence also hosts visits by dignitaries from across Canada and around the world.
