A bustling bastion of Japanesque lifestyle, this Izakaya is known for pairing sakes with small plates. The Wind Water Man Ginjo (served in Bamboo) and Yoshi Dai Ginjo are premiums that'll help you get your yen-on. Creative interior, funky origami-type lighting fixtures and narrow corridor make low seating arrangements seem cozy. Arigato!

Sitting on a stretch of Denman that’s chewed up and spat out many an ambitious restaurateur, Toratatsu—a spinoff of Kodai Uno’s Shiru-Bay, now shuttered—takes over the space most recently occupied by Clove. It is, like many spinoffs, a paler version of the original. Drinks are top-notch, though: try the Uno made with soho sake and pineapple juice.
