Worst business experience of my life!: Worst experience with a business in my life
I've never written a negative review about a business before. After many attempts to see if there was some sort of sympathy or regret, I realized that they had no intentions of treating me or any other customers differently.

I ordered furniture from them. They promised an early delivery date because we were moving and said that we would not order from them if we did not get it in time for the move. To make a very long (but still not ended) story short, they failed to deliver on their promises and were impossible to contact to get updates. So far, it has taken three times as long to deliver as they originally stated. We have long since moved and been living on the floor with our clothes stuffed in garbage bags.

I understand delays (although, they have admitted the original promised delivery time was unreasonable...but that was made to make a sale) and would have still been happy with the service if we were notified or could have at least notified them. As the dates passed where we were told that we would have been notified that the furniture was ready, we would phone to check in. I soon realized that they never answered the phone. I would try phoning at different times of day. I'd leave a message each day because we were moving shortly and we need to know what size of UHaul to take. A week and a half after the promised date of delivery, with still no word, I phoned many times during the day. I lived out of town, otherwise I would have just dropped by. I had my mom drop in to ask about it because I needed to know to move the next day. They made her wait to be greeted for 20 minutes and said they had no answers. I drove in to Winnipeg the next morning and waited (with another delivery guy who was also waiting) for the store to open 20 minutes late. My furniture would arrive the next week was the answer I got and they would move it up for me. Each time another delay happened, we were not notified. We just had to notice that we did not receive a bedroom set and would start the hassle of phoning and leaving messages without receiving responses all over again. It's really disconcerting to know that this company has a couple thousand dollars of yours, they have not delivered the product and they don't even return phone calls.

We were PROMISED that our product would be available to us for sure 6 weeks ago. There have been many other dates thrown our after that promised delivery date was missed (and we hadn't been notified). I was told again it would be delivered FOR SURE by this past week, but have another promise of delivery next week. We will see.

I asked for an apology. I had the most sarcastic apology of my life. I think he realized that saying "sorry, sorry, sorry" over and over again was rude, so he added "I'm just teasing you" to the end. As I told Treehouse, my experience would have been much different if only we were kept in the loop and treated with respect. I understand delays. I was disappointed they didn't fulfill their promise just so they could make a sale, but that wouldn't have even gotten me upset. It was the lack of communication and failure to show any sort of compassion.

We DID have a good experience with the man who did sell us the furniture. It was just difficult to get a hold of him because he didn't work every day and he was apparently the only one that returned phone calls. The other people I talked to were just plain rude, though. It sure didn't seem like they cared about losing a customer.

Again, I've written many many good reviews about many businesses I've been impressed with. I hesitate from writing a bad review because I know people try. I just can't believe how much stress one business was able to cause us in our move and our new lives in a new place.

If Treehouse reads this, please treat your customers better, apologize, answer your phone. These things will go a long way -- even with delays happen. Also, the man that sold us our furniture was kind when he did phone us back. It just sometimes took over a week for that to happen (which is a long time when you're taking a UHaul up to move).

As of yet, I can't say how the furniture is because we are still living out of garbage bags.

C@!%!y Product, C@!%!y Service: My wife and I had a similar experience as the anonymous reviewer. We shopped around looking for a headboard and matching dresser. We went into treehouse on a whim and found what we thought was perfect (at least in the showroom). We bought the set on the spot for what seemed like a decent price. We paid the extra to have the pieces delivered, but unfortunately I was out of town when they arrived but my wife was less than happy when she examined them. The delivery man said that the condition wasn't his responsibility and said we should contact the store. Much like the other reviewer, that was an ordeal in itself. The two clowns you see on their TV commercials said they would deal with us after they completed their ,move from Portage to St James. 4 months later we still hadn't heard anything. Finally after endless additional call, someone came out and replaced the fronts on two of the drawers but said the shoddy stain job on the headboard wasn't due to the workmanship but the type of wood!
As a result, every time I see the 2 stiffs on a commercial pushing their "quality" merchandise, I want to throw something at the TV. I just wish there was some way to mobilize the other dissatisfied customers that I'm sure are out there to voice their experiences.

Inferior Product, terrible customer service: We bought a dresser for our daughter, and when we got home we noticed that a couple drawers didn't line up. One drawer even falls off the track when it's fully opened.

I called the store and left a message. Nobody returned my call! When I called again, they said to call the warehouse because that's where we picked it up.

I called the warehouse, and also left a message that nobody returned. When I did get in contact with someone, he was not very friendly. When I told him the problem and how much we just spent, he said "you actually got a good deal!"

We just forked over our hard-earned money, and we get a product that doesn't work properly out of the box. The guy should be apologizing and offering to fix it.

Instead, he tells me that they are inspected at the factory, and that they use jigs so nothing should be wrong. Not only that, he says "You could just shim the drawer or adjust the slider inside the dresser."

I was furious! This was terrible customer service.

I was handed over to another person (manager?) who was much more friendly, and offered to drop off another drawer to us when it came in, but he never called me back!

I will never shop at Treehouse Furniture again!
