Description
This fun neighborhood bar is located near downtown and just steps away from the Eau Claire Market. Its cozy environment includes an outdoor patio, fireplaces, and a 100-year-old Scottish bar imported from the UK. If you want something to drink, that's easily taken care of; you'll find a couple of dozen draft beers and even more bottled ones. There's also hard liquor if you need an added jolt....

This is one of our favourite places: This is one of our favourite places since we moved to Calgary three years ago. It is nothing really extraordinary special or fancy, but very reliable quality of food, a great choice of beers on tap and even if it is crowded good and friendly service. So it meets the expectation of neighbourhood pub. Our favourite is the spinach dip, and like so often in Calgary the portion quite often good enough for two people, who are not physically working.

Really good food: All I can say is that the plate of nachos for $17 was enough to feed 4 people, it was absolutely huge, loaded with jalapenos and other great toppings. It's also a nice cozy pub in winter.

A number of pubs and late-night watering holes are just outside the market on the Barclay Parade plaza. The Barley Mill Neighbourhood Pub is an old-school pub with a great patio and second-story deck plunked down in the plaza across from the Eau Claire Market. This is better-than-average pub grub served in a relatively refined, woodsy pub atmosphere. The nearby park makes it even better.
