Doesn't keep their word: Daytona Motorsports provided me with a quote in email to repaint a motorcycle tank and conveyed a service time of approximately 3 weeks. 6 weeks later, with numerous calls on my behalf to follow up, including stopping into the shop the quote was never adjusted, nor were any issues communicated.

When the tank was ready, and the work was excellent I might add, I was asked if I was sitting down as the bill was $$920 with tax- nearly double the agreed to quote.

I discussed the excess to the quote (it was not an estimate), but Daytona Motorsports refused to negotiate the price and instead offered to knock $100 off my next service.

The owner, Fenton Aubrey has chosen to disregard my complaint to negotiate the price and I have reported the business to the BBB under the the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act of BC Division 1 Deceptive Practices chapter 4 (3) c (iii)

I received cursory service and feel ripped off. I would not recommend this shop for service to a vehicle or otherwise.

Sales man is a scammer. Don't shop here for gear.: I went to this store, looking for a professional opinion, not knowing much about bikes and gear.

I was greeted by a sales guy who dubbed himself a “professional” and I explained to him I was a student of Pacific Riding School. I heard they gave a discount and I wanted a professional opinion and to eventually buy some gear. He was really friendly and started talking to me about PRS, saying he worked there for about 5 years. We discussed discounts and he confirmed that students get 10% off purchases. I told him that I was thinking of getting the AlpineStar Web Gortex boots. He told me that they had the web gortex in stock and also a similar one by the same brand but it wasn’t officially “gortex” so it’s “not the same”. I accepted that and decided on the web gortex. In hindsight I really wish he would have taken the time to explain to me the different boot choices. I don’t need a waterproof boot as I was only riding in the summer, which I told him, I just heard the Web Gotex was “very breathable”. I wasn’t aware that alpine made the MX5 and I realize now it would have been a better choice. They are roughly the same price too. I even asked him if there were any other boots that were similar in price that he could recommend. He told me that these “were the best for my price.” But I accept that I should have done more research before talking to a professional. Seems a bit silly because you think that’s why you would see a professional but whatever. I picked those boots, I picked out a pair of gloves and I wanted help picking out a jacket. He told me my best option is the Scorpion EXO Ventech jacket. It did look nice and it was within my budget so I decided to get it. He spent a little time talking about liners but that really about it. He went to ring everything up and told me that my total including discount was $586. I paid and left.

I was cleaning out my car and came across my receipt a week later. And it hit me, he never applied the discount. He did ad it as a line item to the invoice but my “PRS 10% Student Discount” was marked as quantity 0 so it never applied. It showed on the receipt but he purposely didn’t apply it. What kind of person does this?? An immoral scammer, that’s who. Now I got to wonder what else he scammed me out of or into. Here I thought I was getting a professional opinion but I was just getting scammed.

My recommendation, don’t shop here, especially if you are just starting to learn about gear and bikes. You will get scammed.
