Avoid: Dr. Kwoo seemed nice at the beginning of my journey with him, the initial visit, questionnaire, "I don't have to be afraid of dentists speech" and bedside manner. Margaret the receptionist is awesome! So nice and understanding, would always point out that there is nothing wrong with asking questions. I liked him so much I referred my dad. My dad needed a lot of work done re fillings and root canals. We both DO NOT have medical insurance, I was the one asking a million questions and trying to find solutions to payment issues, re payment plans (which their website claims they offer but DO NOT), as well as solutions to try to deal with what is needed on a must need basis.

One of the first for my dad was 2 root canals, we were given an estimate, Dr. Kwoo did his thing and then charged my dad THREE TIMES as much. I questioned this after the fact as my dad had no choice but to pay. I met with Dr. Kwoo privately and all he could say was that it was an "estimate", he needs to pay his staff and such, and would not consider a refund or credit of any kind. Three times as much as the estimate!!! I can understand a small difference in the estimate and the actual procedure, but he knew we didn't have medical insurance and he flat out didn't care.

So after awhile of my questions and problem solving to help my father and his dental and financial needs, Dr. Kwoo sent my dad a letter claiming he could not and would not deal with just one tooth at a time, everything needed to be done at once. Pretty much saying he does not want my dad as a client, we are too much trouble and that we were obviously not getting enough money to him as fast as he wanted.

Six months after I had two small fillings filled from Dr. Kwoo, I went to another dentist for wisdom teeth extraction, I asked his opinion on the quailty of those fillings, he said they are deteriorating.

Four months after the 2 root canals my dad had from Dr. Kwoo, they started hurting him. (Definition of a root canal is they take the nerve and vessels out, aka dead tooth, aka no feeling) My dad asked Dr. Kwoo on additional visits why they would be hurting, Dr. Kwoo told him because he needed expensive caps on those two teeth. I referred my dad to my new dentist, who had to send my dad to a specialist as the root canals were botched, he didn't drill all the way down like he was suppose to, on both of them! So my father got a serious infection. (Think if Dr. Kwoo would have put caps on those two botched root canals he would have sealed in the infection!!!)

I now have to pay twice for the same 2 tiny expensive fillings, and my dad has to pay specialist fees to fix 2 seriously botched root canals. Our new dentist is very concerned with our experience with Dr. Kwoo, and has referred us to the "College of Dental Surgeons".

Found an amazing Dentist: Called me back on his day off! Then met me at his office to help me with an epic tooth problem. He is very a skilled dentist and a sensitive professional who has compassion for those in need. Can't say enough good things about our NEW dentist. Wait til you meet Margaret his receptionist......so nice.
