My experience with Fireplaces to go: I've contacted "Fireplaces to go" a week ago, to get a price for a wood burning insert. I choice this store because it has nice website and big store and showes on yellowpages.
Salesperson, Richard gave me a good price for a wood burning insert and installation. it was $2200 for the cheapest one.

I actually went in person and there were no Richard because he was done for the day. So i met Lisa, the manger or the owner. Waited around 5 mintues up stairs looking at gas firelaces but a woodburning insert was nowhere to be found.

Finally, Lisa came and I said to Lisa that i was interested in a wood burning insert. Lisa said there are no wood burning inserts in store, she showed some brochures. She said it costs at least over $5000 and it's hard to get permit and expensive installation and etc reasons that it is not easy thing to get.

It seems as though she did not sell a product to me. She was scaring me off with all those reasons. I said Richard gave me a quote for $2200 including installation, and she said there are no such thing for wood burning insert. Then, she wanted to check, so she calle Richard to confirm. And there it is for $2200.

Surely, i was interested for the special price, so i asked for Richard to come to home and check if it is possible to install. So he came on Monday and explained everything very well and he said extra cleaning and extra chimney insert so it came to 2800$ including tax.

Half was to be paid infront and half when i get the permit.
He told me i will get an email Today about the invoice and all the information i need.

I waited and waited..... no reponse.

On Tuesday Night, i find out that FULL amount was taken away from the credit card. Whole $2800. I thought this could be a scam at the monent. I felt uneasy because i did not get any call or email or any info and $2800 was gone. I felt uneasy and was determined to go to the store on Wednesday.

I called Fireplaces to go on Wednesday about transaction reasons, i wanted to receive a call back. 3hrs passed I did not get the call.

So i just went to the store and to wait for Lisa for 10min. Richard told me she was on a $8000 job on the next store and told me to wait for a bit.

As i wait i believe i saw 40% restocking fee for cancelation, which scared me a bit.

She came and said she was busy setting up fireplace for opening store next to hers.

I just told her to cancle the transaction and she was able to do so. Whew.

I did not get apology for false transaction or no email or no call back. She only had excuses for her busyness.

I felt that my $2800 job is less important then $8000 job across from her store.

I know i can get a better service from Walmart buying $2 toothbrush. I definately expect more from fireplace sales.

This is a real thing happened yesterday. I just couldn't sleep and wrote this 4:40am in the morning.

This is for future buyers for reference. I hope this help the buyers to make right choice.
