I asked for a “bio-gel” nails treatment with a French design. The manicurist who helped me first tried to use tools that had just been used on another customer. They had not been sterilized. I asked for sterilized because no matter where you go, if the tools aren’t sterilized that’s a serious health risk. The young lady proceeded with the manicure and after 3 hours it was complete. The manager guaranteed me it would last 2 to 3 weeks and charged me 60$. Four days later, I noticed that the finish was starting to “bubble” at the top of my nails and peeling, which is not supposed to happen. I went to another salon to ask if this was normal and if I should just have them fixed. This salon confirmed that it wasn’t normal to see such damage after such a short period of time; it usually appears after a minimum of 2 weeks. This was caused by not properly treating the nail and cuticles prior to posing the nails. The next day, 2 more nails completely broke off, so I returned to Grace Nails to ask for a refund. The manager absolutely refused. She was very rude and hostile. She refused and accused me of the damage. When I told her I did not want to leave without a refund or the name of the owner she proceeded to call the police. She called the police because a customer came back to complain and ask for a refund for poor quality product. The police arrived and asked her to calm down. They could not force her to refund me. I knew this already but did not want to leave the salon until they arrived incase she accused me of any wrong doing. This is the most ridiculous customer service I had ever experienced. It was frustrating and humiliating. I can’t believe Grace Nails Salon’s horrible business practices. I never yelled or insulted her, or made a scene. I just wanted my refund. She called the police because a customer was complaining about their product. I just want my $60 back.
