Response to review 'Irresponsible Disaster': In response to the negative review above, I would only like to say that I did everything humanly possible to honor my commitment to the client.

The only difference between Richard's (reviewer) and my views of the situation is that he sees me as the reason why the job was called off and I see himself as the reason.
According to him I did that because I "claimed to be insulted by my request that a frail elderly person be informed of a delay of this kind".
Anyone reading his review would ask himself only one question. How can someone feel insulted by a request? The fact is Richard did not say the complete story.
The job was called off for the following reasons:
1. In his text message, he accused me of doing things 'haphazardly' and my decision to delegate was a bad idea (how is that a bad idea when I had to go to London for an emergency and made sure someone goes and helps his mom?).
2. He called the tech on his cell and yelled at him asking him to go back and do the job. (He was dealing with me and he had no right to yell at my tech).
How I handled the situation?
July 08 afternoon - Agreed to help Richard's mom with the internet problem the next morning. (I didn't even discuss the charges because the intention was more to help an elderly lady than to make money).
July 08 evening - Torrential rain hits Toronto causing blackouts, flooding and road closures.
July 08 night - Received an emergency call for next morning in London.
July 08 night - Arranged a tech to go help Richard's mom the next morning (unaware of the traffic situation)
July 08 night - Send an email to Richard advising him of delegation.
July 09 morning - Tech was delayed because of traffic lights outage, road closures & traffic jams.
July 09 9.40 am - Received text from Richard asking the status of tech. Informed him of the situation assuring him the tech is on the way and received a response from him accusing me of doing things 'haphazardly' and my "decision to delegate was a bad idea". (still have the text message as proof).
9.45 am - Upset by his comment, I called off the job.
9.55 am - Received phone call from Richard who pleaded me to help his mom and I agreed to send the tech back.
9.55 am - Called tech asking him to go back on site but he refused to go because according to him Richard had called him and yelled at him asking him to go back and do the job.
10.05 am - I had already hit the road on my way back to Toronto. I didn’t have long distance call facility to call Richard in New York so called Richard's mom to let her know that tech will not be coming anymore and her son should look for another technician.
In my view, had he chosen his words carefully in that situation and tried to understand the position that me and my tech were in that morning, there was no reason for me to turn the tech back and Richard could be talking to his mom and seeing her on the camera the same morning.
I have presented my case here and let the readers be the judge. Anyone interested to know all about this incident can contact me at info@lanwanit.ca

Irresponsible Disaster: Ayub, the owner of the business undertook to help my elderly and infirm mother with an internet problem. I discussed the work in detail with him to and he appeared to understand the sensitivity of the task. On the morning the work was to be done, I received an email that he had delegated the task to someone else in his company. 40 minutes after this person was scheduled to arrived, without any message to my mother, who was by this time confused and upset, I contacted him. He reported that his man had been slowed by the flooding.

I responded that he should in future, particularly where the elderly are involved, contact the affected if someone is this late. Without any communication, he then ordered his employee to abandon the task. Confronted with this, Ayub claimed to be insulted by my request that a frail elderly person be informed of a delay of this kind.

I have rarely confronted anything as insensitive, incompetent, and unprofessional as this.
