Description
It was a secret known mostly to Ryerson university students, but the word has spread. Salad King’s tasty Thai menu never fails to pack the house day after day, whether it’s with the school crowd or with drop-in’s addicted to the cheap and flavourful fare. Salad King tempts fire-eaters by offering a choice of spice level –from mild to 20 chillies. Sure bets are the Thai fried rice, a selection...

How spicy can you handle?: If you need to prove you're a big man, they will make it as spicy as you desire. Be careful what you ask for though. If you find yourself gasping for your senses, you have only yourself to blame. Provided you manage to request your ideal balance, the food is delicious and as authentic as can be expected.

Yesss: Some great Thai food on Yonge st. I also love the chili system of choosing how spicy you want your food, on a scale of 1 - 20!

Downtown delight for the frugal: Ultra affordable and decent thai. Think of it as a jazzed up food court. This restaurant was designed by pros Munge Leung. Love the concept of fancy foodcourt.

Editorial Reviews
"Be a little daring and go for extra spicy" at this casual Downtown "go-to" (and sib to Linda) where "delicious" Thai dishes at "incredibly inexpensive" prices mean it's often "packed" "with hungry university students"; service is "solid" (especially "considering the traffic"), so though it's "very noisy", it's a "favourite" for "cheap eats."

Salad King is certainly NOT the best kept secret in town. Most Thai food lovers, especially the young and hip, all know about this HOT, HOT, Hot place, conveniently located, close to Yonge and Dundas, near the Eaton Centre!
