Eat Your Hearts Out Kamloops!!: If there was an award for the most busiest Kamloops restaurant at lunch time, this restaurant would definitely have to be nominated and most likely would win that award. Despite having gone through a name change (from Kirin Mandarin to Shanghai Mandarin) and recently an ownership change, the Shanghai Mandarin continues to serve up the right formula at lunch with their lunch buffet. If you show up at noon or shortly thereafter, you can expect to wait a few minutes before a table frees up. So why is this restaurant so popular? Hungry? Really really hungry? For just under $10 per person, you can eat to your heart’s content, buffet style. Their recipe for success is to serve the same dishes every day. Why change, when everybody keeps on coming back for it over and over again? So eat your heart out at this popular Chinese lunch buffet!!

Smorgie Borgie: They have quite an array of different choices but I don't do well with MSG and a lot of their stuff on the smorg is laden with it. It never used to be that way when the previous owners had it.

all right: It's okay. We only use it when the Oriental Gardens is closed.
