great hotel: they have a great Christmas dinner - so beautiful here in the winter - the bar on the second floor is my favorite, with a view that you'll never forget

Priced themselves out of reach ...: I guess it's because of the demand, but the ordinary guy can't even stay here anymore if he wants to splurge. Oh, well, the public can still drop by daily and enjoy the restaurants, bars and shops.

Unreasonably expensive: I think other people will agree, the Banff Springs is just too darn expensive for the common person to stay here! $300 per night minimum, so either watch for deals through the Fairmont President's club, or stay somewhere else and just walk through the hotel one day to see what it's all about.
