Owner Rude! rooms passable, food okay: We rented two suites for four days this summer. No air conditioning in the summer, in this area is absurd. It was sweltering! The food was not bad and some of the staff were nice but the owner, Joan, was particularly impatient, short with my older relatives and rude when asked questions she considered stupid. We also had two parties staying in campers off site but 12 of us were eating at the restaurant with the 8 that were staying there.

We spent a lot of money in the hotel, restaurant and pub and tipped generously. Even so, we were met with surly or sarcastic attitudes on several occasions. The final straw was, after spending in excess of two thousand dollars we were refused when we asked for water for one of the campers. At first we were discouraged because the "hose would not fit". Absurd, it is just a garden hose. Then Joan said that 75L of water was too much since they pay for their water and she wasn't going to give it away. 75L of water costs about 50 cents at the rates in New Denver. We probably left $300 just in tips alone!

Joan also spoke very rudely to her staff in front us and others on several occasions while we were there. This is not only unprofessional management of staff it is very uncomfortable for guests to see this. She has been watching too much "Hell's Kitchen". There is never cause to embarass staff ever, and especially not in front of paying guests!

Wise up! You are in the SERVICE industry. You can't be nice to some and abuse others. Get a good manager and stay behind the scenes, you should NEVER be in public.

We will absolutely not recommend this business and even further, I will actively spread word to avoid this place until it is under new management.

Would "you" like that to go???: Me and my wife stopped by Odins Pub, which is the pub attached to this establishment and have the same owners. Upon entering the pub for a quick cold one (we ate at the hotel in silverton and were pleasantly pleased, and stuff) we quickly noticed a drastic change in scenery (or lack of). Some of the patrons were drunk (too drunk I thought) and others were freely fighting with others by what I came to known as the back door to the place. We thought to ourselves "OK, we'll stay for one, then get the heck outta here" My wife wasn't too pleased with my idea, but went with it. The bartender was a smaller guy who, was a great server, attentive, and quick on his feet, but he didnt seem like he could take control of the mess that had started to develop.

We managed to secure a place by the bar itself, finished half our drinks, and then had one of the locals (I was told later) walk into my wife, hence spilling both drinks, and then have him accuse me of "getting in his way". Im not a small guy by any means, and I know how to control my temper failr well. When it comes to my wife however, enough is enough. We stood up and walked out the door, apparently that was on cue for the people inside to start fighting, cursing, and being all-around idiots.

I hope this was a one time thing, and I just managed to pick the wrong time to go in. However, my wife will NEVER be going back there. she said as much, and since we ride together, Neither will I.

Fair warning to others, It is a nice place and all, But be wary of the pub in the evening. We went to the Silverton Hotel after our fiasco at Odins (which we had previously come from) and ended our night meeting other riders, laughing, and sharing our stories.

Frozen Fanatics: The food is mediocre...frozen and everything is package made. You pay out the wazoo for "extras" that most places give for free...I.E - extra glass...fork...plate...

Rude management and indifferent staff. Their motto is not to keep people pleased. Its to make money by being the
"only" place to sleep and eat in town. The rooms date back to 1982...and whatever you do - dont talk to the owners!!

Run down, dated and all over dodgy atmosphere. not worth the paper placemats you eat on even!
