Through the Garden Gate: Beyond the Bridle Path: BIG city gardens - BIG on design and inspiration

Participants will tour fourteen private gardens near the Toronto Botanical Garden, in the Bayview Ridge to Post Road area. One of the homes has an outstanding Japanese garden with traditional Japanese lanterns, a waterfall and unusual trees and plants. Garden-goers will also enjoy a sculpture garden showcasing a Chihuly glass sculpture, a modern garden grid highlighting luscious grasses designed by Mark Hartley, a sleek and modern garden overlooking Windfields Park designed by Ron Holbrook, a Janet Rosenberg designed garden with an outdoor living room, parterre and vistas and a garden designed by Bélisle-Murray Landscape Architects with curving lines, a long stone wall and repetition of specimen trees.

A comprehensive garden guide outlining the unique features of each garden is provided and Toronto Master Gardeners will be located in each garden to answer questions and identify plant material. Complimentary shuttle buses continuously drive the route, giving participants the option to “hop on and hop offâ€ at each of the gardens.

WHEN:
