Description
The Velvet Underground is exactly what you would expect from a club named after one of the most famous alternative bands of the 60s. That is to say, you will not find the regular club district clientèle here, but instead a wide variety of college kids, Goths, punks, and everything in between. If you're looking for a place to play some pool, dance, people-watch and have some affordable drinks,...

Great Music, No Pretense: The crownd is always a fun ecclectic mix of people...hard rockers, goths, hipster, bachelorette party girls...etc. I always have a good time here. The music is generally a pumped up rock mix and the drinks are cheap. They sometimes have a reasonably priced cover for local bands shows and genraly this place doesnt get overly packed. Good place to go and get wrecked and dance your feet off without fear of embarassment.

Death Rattle: Velvet has been around for a while. Its one of the last rocks bars around. Its a bit of an older crowd (25-35) as it plays old alternative NIN, Nirvana, Pearl Jam etc but still keeps it young by playing some of the newer rock hits. Its a dark 2 level bar with a pool table in the back. Not much room for sitting so if you go you better be up for dancing!

Fun Times: The Velvet Underground, is one of the last great spots in the city to go hang out and listen to rock. The place has great rock vibe with pool tables, couches, and best of all cheap drinks!

Every Night has a different theme from Live Bands, Industrial, Rock, Hip - Hop and even Retro.

Place tends to only fill up after midnight but its a great spot to start the night or finish the night when hopping.
